January's pick of the month is both fun and educational,
the U.S. Space and Rocket Center enthralled every member
of our family. The exhibits are spaced out, (no pun intended),
in such a way you don't seem to notice the crowds. (And we
visited on what was supposed to have been an exceptionally busy day). The museum not only boasts exhibits to look at, but tons on "hands on" activities including computer simulated landing of the space shuttle, an actual space capsule complete with working lights, buttons and switches that the kids can play in, a rock climbing wall, amusement park type rides and tons more… all included in the admission price. The museum also has an IMAX theatre on property. There is a food court, a great gift shop and easy access to restrooms. The U.S. Space and Rocket Center also is home to Spacecamp. $$$$ Interesting money saving tip ** It might work out cheaper to purchase the annual family pass for the U.S. Space and Rocket Center over individual passes based on the size of your family. (We did!) The annual pass gives you FREE unlimited admission to the exhibits, ½ price IMAX tickets, ½ price tickets for your guests, 10 % discount on food as well as FREE general admission to more than 250 participating ASTC Passport Science Centers worldwide - (The Orlando Museum of Science and History is part of this, as are many other museums and other attractions in nearly every state!). Our kids are hoping to someday be able to review the spacecamp for you! Worth your while to look at the website .. the whole idea is kid heaven!!
